Sadly, in many cases, the difference between playing ‘good’ and ‘evil’ characters is that the players need less cognitive dissonance about their actions, if they can call themselves evil.
I tried running an evil game once, but after the characters got into murder and rape, I couldn’t go on. It felt wrong.
Chad, too bad you don’t live closer to me. I’d definitely play a supers game with you.
If I wasn’t about 7 timezones away, I’d gladly join a supers game. Actually, seems like we will play Necessary Evil in the near future.
Don’t encourage him. For several episodes straight, Chad’s been all, “I desperately want to do X, but no one in the group will do it.” And X is typically an idea I’ve never heard him bring up before, and Pat and I immediately chime in to say we’d be happy to do it.
Lies.
I dunno Chad, I got a really strong deja vu “no one will play this CCG/RPG/Game with me” and the hosts are like “I will”.
Do those things ever get followed up on?
Never. :(
Off topic, but I’m listnening to both old and new episodes. Does one of you hosts know which episode included the Fear and Loathing in Gondor comments?
Thanks for a great podcast by the way!
I just did a bit of combing through stuff and the Fear and Loathing comments are in Episode 55, near the end of the 45th minute of the podcast. Hysterical stuff. :)
I’m running Necessary Evil right now, but unfortunately for Chad I’m far away in North Carolina. However, if it would make him feel better, I suppose I could print out a life-sized version of his forum avatar and position it at the table when we play… :D
Just watched CABIN IN THE WOODS. That to me is totally a story about how a pagan cult would operate in the modern times with modern gadgets and technology. Prolly one of my favorite horror movies to date!
