Bonus Episode 41 – things we’ve never done

I apologize in advance for this episode.  It was a bonus show recorded on New Years Eve, and nature pretty much just took its course.  I have another (regular) episode in the hopper, which I will release later this week to make up for missing last week completely and then off-loading this on you today.

Once we get coherent (16:33), the topic is things we’ve not been able to do yet in our gaming career but really want to someday.

Hosts: Beth, Chad, Dan, John, Pat

FAIR WARNING: This episodes is quite a bit more crass and directionless than our normal episodes.

Man, I love when you’re crass and directionless! :) Happy belated new year!

Yeah, this was an awesome episode. I almost burst out laughing on the bus to work several times. I don’t have a problem with you guys missing the odd episode either, you don’t do it with nearly as much frequency as some of the Podcasts I listen to. It might be an idea though to put a blog entry up (not an apology or anything) just saying it going to be late or not happen just so I don’t feel the need to check the site everytime I go out.

Happy new year guys.

Ian, not only are you right about the blog entry but we even have/had an internal policy in place to make an announcement here, on twitter, FB and on the forums that we would be late. We had a long run between the time we made that policy and missing an episode I know I completely forgot about it until I read your post and it reminded me. /facepalm

As Ian states, you guys do a great job in putting out episodes, so I wouldn’t fret too much about things. I do have to say, if it results in more Fear the Drunks episodes, I’m all for it. I was chuckling quite a bit all the way through. I wish everyone had taken Chad up on his offer to run an impromptu game right then and there.

Chad, you should get someone to run leverage for you.

ChadJanuary 6th, 2012 at 12:42 pm

They did take me up on my offer and we played a game around the mics and recorded it. Dan cut it from the ep, I have no idea why.

DanJanuary 7th, 2012 at 8:50 pm

There was indeed an actual play that was about 20 minutes long. After it was over, I asked Chad to explain where he came up with some of his ideas and why he conducted the game using certain techniques. The problem was that people were in varying stages of stupor, and two people in particular wouldn’t talk into the mics, so the sound quality was atrocious. You could hardly understand what was being said.

If we ever do something like that again, I need an omni-directional condensor mic to pick up everything in the room. The good mic habits normally practiced during a recording weren’t even vaguely in-play.

…Because she is Venezuelan. Wow. That is so awesome.

Sorry for the really late reply, I’m just listening to some of these for the first time.

Your idea for a mage bum sort of reminds me of a character in a game I was in. We had a guy in a superhero game who was a crass drunken bum who found Power Armour. He was a lot of fun to play with.

…and I think that I will be attempting to GM a Cthulu Western game some day.
