Listening eight years after the show was posted. To the subject of catching up players, only Chris was correct, in my opinion. There are too many issues to go into with the reasons given by the other hosts, but it is the GM’s responsibility to inform any previously absent players of information they should know of. If, however, another player decides to catch up other players, they should do so with as little bias, opinion, or personal take, as possible. The abstentia player should have the chance to make up their own mind on the info before being influenced by others. Let alone the problem that the player doing the informing can ONLY give THEIR version of what they experienced. The GM is the best choice for this. And the above is just one “solution” that was discussed.
As always, I very much enjoy the podcast, except for anything that involves Chad. Seriously, horrendous from the start, and his involvement only gets worse. Fortunately, there are ways to skip over everything he contributes (all of it, time-wasting).
