Incidentally, I had a dyslexic friend once who fancied himself as a Stalinist, but he got into all kinds of trouble...

Well, you know, being the only one to give him grandsons can put you at the top of the approval list.

I've found out why a bunch of stuff we'd set the Tivo for wasn't recording, and a bunch of our channels were sometimes there and sometimes not.

It's because Comcast thought they knew what they were doing, and remotely deactivated one of our two cablecard decoders. Unsurprisingly to anybody who actually knew what the model of Tivo we have needs, this caused us to be unable to receive two channels at once. Thus, anything on one tuner was fine, while anything on the second tuner was complete Fail.

Don't you just love monopolies?

Particularly the way they lied to us in a pathetic attempt to cover their incompetent arses.

Cable does suck, when my in-laws got a bill telling them they'd be getting less for higher rates, they switched to satellite. Although it amounted to trading one monopoly for another, they're happier now with their service.

We were on satellite until we moved here. Sadly, we can't get a Southern view to get a satellite signal here, so we're stuck with cable.

Yet another reason for an FtB PSA on ejaculation being good for humanity, and not just your prostate.

Just for fun, I used this model of a root with roothairs last year when i taught science. Guess how many 7th graders (by %) thought nothing of it???

Vacation is over, and work resumes tomorrow morning. Then evening classes resume after work the next evening. Back to the ol' grindstone.

I'm gonna go with... 95%.

(Unless this is "Price is Right" rules, in which case I bid 1$.)

It's a trick question. 7th graders would never miss a chance to sicker at something so obvious.
