It needs a north arrow, specially as up is not high north
It needs a scale bar

You need to halo the lettering. Specially when using it on top of an aerial image with multiple colours under it.
You might have wanted to turn on the elevation on Google earth to give you a false 3D in the image.
You might have wanted to make the base image gray-scale so that it's cheaper to print and makes the highlighted areas stand out more.
You might want to photoshop "Google Earth" out of the map.

EDIT: Feel free to ask about about map making if you want. I make them for a living.

Thanks for the feedback. When I'm mapping i usually hit these things but using Photoshop (an old version at that) theirs a lot of things i just dont know yet. BUT, i'm a keep at it!

Also, what are some maps you've done? You've peaked my interest now.

Mostly planing related stuff. Like this

Is that one you made or just an example you pulled off the internet? I ask because if it's something you made why isn't it in Icelandic?

I think it needs to be somewhere other than Google Drive, so I can actually see it at work. :)

I am a dual citizen. I have lived both in Australia and Iceland. I currently live in Iceland, but tend to do a lot of contract work for Australian planners. I'm told the when my main partner in Australia introduces her teams in meetings jaws drop when she tells them her GIS person in in Iceland.

Proof: Early draft of said map.

I like imigur You can just drop them there and get a .png public link. I wouldn't do it with sensitive materials or IP. But images like this, it's the way to go.

Awesome!

I've been wanting to go to Iceland for a while now. Do some hiking, see the aurora borealis.

Color me jealous. Iceland is the top place I'd like to visit and/or have an extended stay.

Sigh. I should have mentioned that dropbox is also blocked. Our IT folks are quite paranoid. :)
