Not a big problem just call up and change it to a over the phone interview right? After all I gave myself a half hour to work out the bugs before the interview. Nope. I only have one contact number and it goes to voicemail. I spend the next hour trying to contact anyone or get Skype for Business to work on Linux when I finally get a call back a half hour after the time of my interview and get the number for the hiring manager. I leave a message with them but at this point I don't blame them for ignoring me.

Save me from antiquated software.

Skype and Skype for Business are two separate programs that just share the same name. An external person can connect into Skype for Biz but it has to be setup on an Enterprise level at both sites.

Did this company ask you to have a Skype interview with them and just expect for you to magically show up on their network?

If I'm reading what you posted correctly you might have just dodged a bullet. What was the position?

Mail room at an MIT medical research facility.

Big part of why I'm pissed. I would have loved to have MIT on my resume even if it was a three times removed thing.

Good luck, I'm glad I don't have anyone in the affected age group. It's a fucking mess right now.

My jury duty reporting instructions are "*shrug* dunno, check again in the morning", which is doing my anxiety no good at all.

My 50-year-old body just decided my right foot should hurt because... who the frak knows. Feels like I overextended it. Not sure when this happened.

There is a list of symptoms on a sandwich board outside my building that are apparently related to some virus but look more like a bingo card of "bodily problems I've had at least one or two of every day since I turned 30"

Incidentally this is generally less an inevitability and more the consequences of not taking good care of yourself in your 20's. People talk themselves into thinking it's inevitable -and sometimes some of it absolutely is- but if you exercise responsibly* and stretch and do regular strength training you can greatly reduce the odds of having these types of problems.

Case in point, my uncle is 68 and he has significantly less physical health problems than my cousin who is 36.

*Being too physically active or really overworking yourself to stay in peak shape can be just as risky because one major injury can haunt you for the rest of your life Frodo style.

In that vein, today's hurt foot feels almost exactly like I screwed a round house kick back when I was doing taekwando. But I haven't done taekwando recently, so...

I have pretty bad but seemingly random carpal tunnel syndrome due to all my work and half my recreational activities involve using a mouse and keyboard. There are swings and roundabouts.
