My first thought about a game called 1812 would be that it was related in some way to the 18XX series, rail games so complex that they take longer than Twilight Imperium even with computer support to significantly reduce the cognitive overhead of the stock market simulator. Raucous would definitely not be the first adjective I thought of...

I didn't mean that the War itself was boring (no war is). . .

Panamanian war of independence (I.E. Separation of Panama from Colombia). The war it'self has just become a footnote in the building of the canal.

The Whiskey Rebellion had a good chunk of Pennsylvanian rebel against the nascent U.S. government. Us mobilized an army to find the rebels had gone home.

The last war that Liechtenstein was in they sent out 80 soldiers and 81 came back.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post about mine! I got a copy of Illimat, the card game! As someone that's super into music, I was stoked to get something tied in with a very cool underground artist, while also appealing to my tabletop gaming hobby. Haven't tested it out yet, but the squad's getting together for a night of gaming so we'll see how it goes!
