Since we have a pretty good run of people (and more to come I hope) who are subject matter experts what are some AMA's that would be intersting to you guys?

I'll probably pop in and update this over time as I think of more.

Mostly going off what others have posted, I'm interested in hearing...

Professional and academic experience topics:
- Electronics and hackers
- "Photoshop monkeys" and the like
- Aviation and aerospace
- Any lawyers in the house?
- Mathematics
- Really focused history or philosophy discussions
- Linguistics and etymology

Personal experience topics:
- Beer (and wine!) talk.
- Cancer/trauma survivors.
- Mormon and Jehova's Witness stories.
- Mental health / non-normative conditions (OCD, ADHD, and Autism came up, I think)
- "Former racist" sounds fascinating

Regional topics:
- Locals ("Ask the Boston Booters Anything," for example)
- Travelers ("I am familiar with Lithuania," comes to mind)

While fairly non-specfic, I'd like to see some on the "craft" of doing things. Podcasts, crafts and arts, the creation of THINGS.

That said, I'd read most of them, I think. Love to learn. This is a great idea.

Yeah, law would be really great - particularly if we could get more specific than just lawyer (tax law, or family law, or criminal law, that kind of specific). Estate planning would be a particularly interesting one (to me at least).

Linguistics is always cool. I would love to ask someone some questions about philosophy. I would love to see a series on religious (including atheist/agnostic/pagan options) life/doctrine.

Computer building/makers is another I would love to ask questions about.

Probably more to come when they pop into my head.

Being a family person (ie having a spouse and kids). Something I have more or less zero experience with. Never having even lived with a significant other.

Than shouldn't we first have a discussion on how to find a significant other worth keeping?

I know where I would start.

I'll be putting up all my painting supplies and getting my electronics tools out this week.

As group yenta, I support this. I could teach a masters class on why rpg'ers make the best SO's. :D

Well, the reason for my inexperience isn't lack of ability to find a suitable partner. More it's that I am still young and have no intention of settling down/getting hitched any time soon. It would just be cool to pick the minds of successful couples who aren't related to me by blood and/or are close friends of mine.

The ups, downs, and pitfalls of living with someone else could be worth it too. I know there's a lot I didn't think about before I moved in with an ex-gf, and that experience completely changed how I approached moving in with my wife.
Cursing is like a spice. And sometimes you're making thai.
