Wizard Spooner is invited to help coach a rowing team for an obstacle course regatta. Minor magical assistance is allowed, and Wizard Spooner decides that some extra smarts for the crewmember tasked with directing the rowers would help. He casts Fox's Cunning.

The hobbit steersman promptly gives Wizard Spooner a wedgie.

When fighting off a Fire Elemental, the Great Wizard Spooner casts "Chill Touch".

A plush shaft with three seats appears before him.
A bear there was!
A bear! a bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair!

Edited post:

Strolling through the market, the Great Wizard Spooner heard someone call out, "Stop, thief!" and saw a fellow running through the crowd clutching a woman's purse, pursued by the the woman who had just bought the purse (and was transferring all her cash into it). The Great Wizard did the civic thing and joined in the pursuit, casting his favourite anti-miscreant spell. The spell flew straight and true, and the buyer fell headlong -- grabbing at the heels of the thief, who also fell flat.
Spooner had fired off the wrong spell, but it all worked out just the same.

Realizing that he was late to an important appointment the Great Wizard Spooner decided to cut through the brier. Realizing he was wearing a robe and sandals, he decided to cast Stone Form on himself. "Phone Storm" he incanted.

Lo and behold, a bunch of strange mechanical devices fell from the sky, from boxes with number dials to small slates of metal and glass.

The Great Wizard Spooner realized, just as he attempted to Call Storm to wash the debris out of his aunt's rain gutters, that he'd probably, instead, devastated her chances at the Spring Flower Show; her prize-winning anemones wouldn't be ready in time, now that he'd successfully Stalled Corm.
Aunt Flora was understanding about it all, though, After all, she said, the fern bed was untouched, and she'd rather have a frond than anemone.

Trying to make up for the garden debacle, The Great Wizard Spooner thought he might bless her cottage with a Wooded Guardian. He chanted the spell near a particularly promising young elm tree near her bedroom window and crept softly away.
Imagine Aunt Flora's surprise when she heard a surprised, "Oh, my word! I say, what a charming rustic retreat." Looking out the window, she beheld a tall, slender gentleman in correct morning apparel: neat moustache, spats, cutaway coat, waistcoat with pocket watch, top hat, gloves, and walking stick. Seeing her, he doffed his hat and murmured, "At your service, my lady."
Aunt Flora was delighted with her Good Edwardian.

So, the Great Wizard is also a match maker. :-)
