There are also web based virtual clients. I'm playing with http://chat.mibbit.com/ right now.
You, for when you just want the chat window up in a browser tab.

Also, I think it gets around most port based firewalls.

1. Click on the link.

Internet Relay Chat

Just go to mirc.com and download the client. Then start it up and close all the junk except for the "status" window.

There you will type "/server irc.sorcery.net" and a bunch of text will go scrolling past. Then you will type "/join #feartheboot" and you're golden.
