Podcast apps

Postby Bai Shen » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:57 am

Anyone have any recommendations for good podcast apps? I normally use iTunes but I am looking for something to replace it and allow me to easily listen on my Android phone. These are for audio podcasts only.

I use Podcast Addict. It has FtB, is pretty user friendly, and you can download episodes for later. I've also heard good things about Podbean.

I use beyondpod. It has a widget in addition to an app so it makes it easier if you use it frequently. The way I have it set up, it downloads episodes overnight. I keep the 5 most current episodes of each podcast on my (android) phones sd card.

Podcast Addict had the best permissions so I'm trying that out. Seems pretty good so far.

Beyond Pod is my go to after testing a few. I like the layout and the fact that they continually upgrade and update the app.

They have a free version that is okay but I cannot recall what the difference it is between that and the $1.50 or so full app. I liked the app so much I gave them my money and lost the ads that pop up.

So far PA does almost everything I could want. So I heartily recommend it.
