I'm trying to set up the Strahd dinner but running into resistance because they anticipate this.

This is the fundamental problem of horror games. Horror movies would be really boring if you could yell OH NO DONT GO IN THERE to the screen and the actors would say hmmm good idea I'm going home.

It's only a problem if you just try and make a horror movie out of a horror game. Games are a different kind of horror, the horror lies between the player and their goal, and deliberately confronting it makes the situation even scarier because you are somewhat in control, as opposed to movies where the horror is usually visited upon the characters and all they can do is react to it. 80% of all the games I've run over the past 16 years have been horror, and only maybe a third of them were really boring  :shifty:
