It's all-combat Civ in a fantasy setting. Pretty decent and the price was right. I don't think I'd ever pay for it.

It's no Age of Wonders though.

That got me thinking....

Wasn't there supposed to be an Age of Wonders 3? OH LOOK... it came out in March.

Gooooood bye Warlock!

Thanks for the heads up on that, my son and I downloaded it and may have to give the multi-player part of the game a good test. :-)

I got sucked into the single player for a few hours. Its pretty fun but for some reason I don't find it as compelling as Civ 5. I think its the lack of "ages" int eh game. I never feel like Iv made any real progress, unlike when the game alerts me to having made it to the steam era in civ.

Also since the game leans heavily toward city spam (as there is no real downside.) It makes every location feel a lot less special and important.

In short civ 5 probably is the better 4E game, but it doesn't have you casting flame storm while your army of minotaurs led by your orc shaman ride into glorious battle with an earth elemental and 3 giants.

Civ 5 will never have that.

But if anyone wants to play multiplayer I am oh so very down for it.

Age of Wonders 3 is an excellent game.
