Just finished Last of Us Part II and am now playing Ghost of Tsushima. This is the Assassin's Creed game set in feudal Japan that I've been wanting for years. Also, fast travel... is actually fast!

There isn't a ton of snow in HZD until the expansion (in which there is a crapload), but the game is a freaking masterpiece.

Early game has a fair bit of snow.

That's true. I mean the game does ... well I will ignore that for spoilers, but there is a large part of the game that is snowy, too. The game is incredible, regardless.

Oh, I'm thoroughly spoiled on the main story. Ted Faro is the WORST. But I like the looks of it enough to want to play it myself.

Got a weird compulsion to play through Pathologic 2 again. Seemed like a weird desire to have given the current state of the world, but something about it was powerfully cathartic. It became a safe way to explore a state of mostly impotent struggle in the face of the chaos of plague and the failing of the response of both the government and individuals.

Now that it is out, I've been binging on Horizon Zero Dawn. It's got good points, it's got not-so-good points. I mean, this is very much Scenery Porn: The Game, and so far it's freaking GORGEOUS for environmental art. The melee combat, at least on the "Story" difficulty of "you're only gonna die if you jump off a cliff", is fun and engaging. Which is good, because I really don't like the ranged combat. Part of that is that I hate aiming with a controller, and even with aim assist on I'm having a hard time hitting anything. If I do a run where I expect to actually engage with the combat, it's likely to be mouse and keys. The game is also a bit crashy, but that's not unexpected for a fresh port. Other than the crashing, performance is good enough I have no problems. Overall, it's solid enough I don't regret it as such, but you might want to wait for a patch and a sale.

You're in for a treat. Love that game so much.

It's gorgeous, and I'm slowly getting used to shooting with a controller now, though I still lean heavily on the Tripcaster when I'm doing ranged. I'm being really slow at progressing things, doing all the sidequests I can find, and I'm now level 15 and still haven't left Nora country. Too busy cheesing the heck out of the Hunting Ground there right now.

Unfortunate Spacemen.

It's really quite fun.

You play space people on a station infested with a John Carpenters The Thing type alien. If you're the Alien you sabotage and kill. If you're human you fix and try not to be killed.

Started on Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass. So far I just might most be a fan of how seamlessly the game lets you skip encounters. If you're overlevelled you just... press cancel and you skip it. Don't turn them off, don't make you futz with menus in case you do want to grind, just press cancel to skip.

Also its a really good RPG.

Just pre-paid for Necromunda: Underhive Wars on the X1. Kinda surprised at myself. Really looking forward to next month.
