Ryvauld Game (OOC)

Postby Arbuthnott » Wed Nov 09, 2022 5:05 am

Just thought I'd transition over to here instead of maintaining discussion on the interest check. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

In lieu of you starting at your homeland, Fallout, I'm happy for you to make up the details of your journey so far throughout the underdark, including how you came to meet Blottur, what it is you're looking for, any and all such stuff.

Obviously no pressure, I can fill in anything needed, but feel free to have whatever creative licence you like, within reason

I have a question.

Where is everybody?

It would be nice if the other players would come on in to introduce themselves, say hi, let us know a little bit about what they want from the game etc. Just something to do while we're moving ever so slowly towards a meeting point.

:)

Fallout_monkey here. It nice to meet you new people. I personally am hoping for some dungeon delving action with the game. Hunting treasure and such. Exploration is fun too. The last few campaigns have I've played have been save the world type campaigns. High pressure little downtime. wanting a break from that a little.

Lord Foul here. Veteran of many online play by post games and long-time D&D player and DM (all the 'real' versions). My character, Melody, has ambitions to become a magic-user, and will therefore be rather focussed on obtaining the funds necessary for all that expensive spell research etc. So that's a good fit for Saphire's dungeon-delving treasure-hunting ideas. I too love a bit of dungeon-delving, but I also enjoy a bit of political intrigue, convoluted webs of plotting and scheming etc. In short, I like variety. So long as there's something going on I'll mostly be happy.

Glancing across what's been posted on the Portal so far, it's looking like we have a decent mix of characters emerging. Two grey elves, two half-elves and a deep dwarf so far. Two fighters, a scout, a rogue and a cleric, with two wizards and a druid planned for future development. Certainly appears to be a party made for dungeon-delving and exploration!

Oh yes, and in the spirit of full disclosure, I guess I'd better warn you all... :shifty:

I am renowned for my "near-legendary" patience.

By which I mean, my patience is almost entirely fictitious. I'm the one who posts a response within minutes, and then paces up and down in frustration while waiting for everyone else to do something. I try my best to curb it, but I am what I am and there's only so much I can do without prescription drugs. ;)

But I want you all to know that there is no malice in my incessant nagging, urging, goading and passive aggressive mockery. It's just that I'm really excited about the game and want to find out what happens next. :)

Your own near-legendary patience, with me, will be greatly appreciated.

personally I find your prodding helpful. It motivates me to push past some of my mental quirks that have caused other PBP games of mine to fizzle out.

Any sign of the other three? I can see that Fallout has begun here, and I know I've started in a discord chat. Have the others begun yet? I'm starting to get a little angsty that it's taking a long time to get things moving. I've seen too many games falter and die before they've even got going if it takes too long getting started.

Currently the both of you and NocturnalBat have begun their journey, but both Tao and Kriss are close to starting. I'm going to have you all meet shortly, so don't worry about the session zero we're all starting with.
