Sounds like a fairly personal question.

That's what we're here for; asking intimate questions to and about strangers on the internet.

Didn't forget, just got an asskick by life.

I'm sorry, I will read through and catch up ASAP.

Nothing too terrible, but work has been busy, archery season is in full swing, and my wife is in full "master's thesis isolation mode." This weekend is the end of regular tournament season, so I'll no longer be hitting 2-4 tournaments every weekend, and then State is in mid-March. Unless we somehow sneak into Nationals, after State we'll no longer have shooting practice 2-3 times/week, either. That should clear up lots of free time.

If you guys need to start without me, I absolutely understand, but I really do hope that things will settle down soon, and I'll do my best in the meantime.

Don't worry about it. I'm as eager as any but I really want this game to be low pressure. As long as people periodically update us and don't mind if things move without them (once we're up and running) from time to time, it's find by me if people take life breaks.

Heck the only reason I want the two check in/response days is so that people don't feel like they have to check or respond every day and around the clock.

I'm fairly neutral on the district. My first choice would have been one of the NAN districts, but I think the vote went CAS, which I have no objection to.

As to 'type of work', I don't see Carlos as the overly moral type. What he would object to is closing doors to future research sponsors, so he would probably be reluctant to pull runs against corps that he thought might fund him above board. In particular, the Tir would probably be very interested in his research, and a long term goal would be getting a Portland-based position.

That's absolutely not carved in stone, though, and he would absolutely rob blind a major biotech corp if he thought it would get him ahead.

Carlos Garcia
Elven Biomagical Postgrad

TROUBLE:
"This place can't afford my genius."

ASPECTS:
Really, it's basic science
I can see the patterns

SKILLS:
Occult Lore - 5
Academics - 5
Notice - 3
Knowledge - 3
Contacts - 3
Investigate - 2
Shoot - 2
Resources - 2
Will - 2
Drive - 1
Fight - 1
Rapport - 1
Deceive - 1

STUNTS:
Magic (Summoning)
Magic (Spellcasting)
Magic (Astral Projecting)
Magic (Assense Astral)
Magic (Specialty -- biomanipulation)
Magic (Specialty -- ultra small scale targets)

GEAR:
Ares Predator ("Lots of muggers out there")
Kevlar-threaded street clothes (Minimal, but existant, armor)
Spellcasting fetishes (primarily research based and stored at the university)
Access to a biomagical research lab with, at most, minimal supervision

CONTACTS:
Richard Running Deer (Faculty advisor, dog shaman, Sioux)
Katherine Englewood (Faculty advisor, Biotech, Renraku corporate sponsorships)
Klaus Mueller (Decker, shadows, dropout from the university)

BIO:
His parents are from the Tir. Minor level researchers, they took a position with a Fuchi subsidiary and moved to Dallas. They were too low in the Fuchi ranks to warrant corporate scholarships for Carlos, but paid for private education for him. As it became clear how talented he was, Fuchi has tried to pull him back into the fold, but Carlos has no desire to be a Fuchi wageslave. Gaining a scholarship to Denver, he left home and has had minimal contact with his parents since.

He has an innate aptitude for using magic to target basic biological functions, and doing so at extremely small scales. As a result, he has focused his attention on magical genetic manipulation. He hopes to engineer a retrovirus to activate the magical genomes in an otherwise mundane individual, essentially providing the ability to turn anyone into a mage.

---

Bonus points went 2 to skills and 2 to stunts. It's entirely likely I messed up the process somewhere, as I've only played a FATE-based game once, and it was many many moons ago.

Looks good.

So we'll set the college in a CAS district. This does not mean your character has to be CAS. I want to have the character sheets at the beginning of the thread for easy reference. Would you all prefer that we keep this thread alive as the In Character thread or shall i start a new one?

Either way i'll get on writing the school intro as well as the campaign setup.
