Note to self, get back to climbing the charts with Tephra Falls. [Due to... stuff. I had to set it aside for a little bit.]

I don't know how automated your tools are, but I'd curious to know post counts per user and word counts for user.

Any way of knowing which of them "finished" as opposed to "faded"? And if so, is there a magic number for success? I suppose it would be impossible without reading them all or polling the GMs.

I can't say for certain, but I have a strong sense that nearly all of them have "faded" rather than "finished". Mostly we're looking at a combination of player fade out, GM fade out, or both. At least one I know of ended because of bad blood between players spoiling it for the GM (and I still struggle to set aside the sheer hatred I have for that person, even though in killing off the second best game I've ever played in they inadvertently caused the emergence of the best game I've ever played in). :shifty:

I did post count per user for the entire PBP forum a while back. It'll either be in this forum or in the Random Forum Thoughts thread in General Discussion (can't remember). Of course it'll be out of date now but it'll give a good indication.

Word count? Not a chance.

I got to nearly 500 posts before mine kinda fell apart?

Makes me want to try running a pbp again. without Wild Talents.

Just an observation, intended as constructive criticism. Your last game "kinda fell apart" because you stopped posting for around a month despite prompts from your players to respond and then when they gave up on it you ended it without so much as a word of acknowledgement. That sort of thing doesn't fill people with confidence.

Watching your current game unfold at roughly the speed of tectonic plate movement, I wonder if history may be repeating itself. For a pbp game to work you need two things: a dedicated GM and at least one dedicated player. Without either of those things it is doomed to fail. One of those things is within your power to provide or not. There are lessons to be learned here if you are open to them.
