Arienne pauses a moment to think. "I don't know much about life here, and I'm sure the culture will be different than Seldar. All I know is the life and economics of a large port city, so I would like to say I'd love the idyllic rural life, but I don't know much about it. I'll adapt, but it might be good to take a look at as many places as we can before deciding. I'd like to talk to the townsfolk to understand the economy, maybe even a sage from this area, to understand the traffic within and outside of the Isles. Then we need to sit down and come up with a business plan, plus capital to finance until the business gets its own legs."

 Devia's eyes are wide. "Wow! You've got yourself a shrewd businesswoman here, Sterling!" she says with a smile as she claps him on the back, regretting it instantly with a wince, as his rock solid frame stings her hand. Rubbing her hand to dull the smart, she continues. "I think you've got your work cut out for you, but rightly so. Can't jump into a life changing business without doing your homework!"

Arienne smiles and looks back to Sterling. "This place is quite nice," she says, toasting Devia with her wine glass and motioning around the room to the inn (this is the one halfway up the mountain to the royal castle), "but I'd like to see everywhere that we have discussed. Traffic leads to profit unless we have enough notoriety to bring clientele from wealthy cities to our small resort. Where do you want to go tomorrow, or do you want to spend another day looking more closely here?"

"Let's!" Arienne says.

The following day, the group heads around the island to the port town of Eleri. The road hugs the coast and you are able to see all the beautiful coastal villages along the way, and random fishing huts. The woods surrounding Eleri are gorgeous, and mostly untouched by any kind of development. Kor notes that this is without a doubt a sylvan forest, as pristine as any he has seen. A river runs past Eleri and seems to come from up on the mountain. The terrain here is steep, much steeper than the rise coming from Wendis, and Sterling suspects there are some cliffs and perhaps a waterfall somewhere back in the woods.

Eleri is less populus than Wendis, probably due to less international traffic, but is a beautiful spot. They do not seem to have the defenses against the fish-men (such as the guard towers), and Stering notes that the buildings here have scratch marks on the shutters of their windows. As they walk into town, a young girl with a basket of flowers approaches the lot of you.

"Welcome to Eleri!" she greets in Islander. "Would you be interested in a fresh flower? One copper!" She smiles brightly.

Sterling will buy a flower for Arienne.

To the flower-girl, he says "Perhaps you can help us. We're looking for the most beautiful place on the island. Where do you think that might be?" :)

Kor fishes out a copper, selecting a yellow tulip and handing it to Devia.

"We think there's a waterfall up there." He chimes in, sming at the girl. "Any idea where that might be?:

The girl smiles and gleefully hands flowers to each of you in exchange for the two coppers. Arienne puts hers in her hair with a smile.

"Well, the prettiest place on this island is up that way, of course," she points to the direction where Kor suspects there is a waterfall. "There's a path that heads through the woods, just past the well there," she points to the well. "That leads back to the cliffs and the waterfall. It's wonderful!" She points to Sterling's axes. "You'll have to leave your weapons at the stone gate, though, as only druids are allowed to carry them into the grove. Be respectful, too. The druids are always watching and you don't want to mess anything up back there." She skips off down the street, happy to have made a sale.

Arienne leads you all off to the path, assuming that you want to see the waterfall. The path quickly becomes shady and humid under the canopy, cool with moisture. The sound is dampened as you walk back, making for a place of calm. About a quarter mile back, an old stone archway, covered in moss, makes its way across the path. It appears to be some sort of ancient doorway from a long lost building. This appears to be the place the girl described. Devia drops her rapier, then begins the process of removing all of her weaponry. Just when you think she doesn't have another dagger, she pulls yet another one from some recess of her clothing you didn't know existed. After about five minutes, there is a veritable pile of concealable weaponry at the base of the stone arch just off to the side of the path. She smiles and shrugs, walking through.

Sterling will deposit his weapons and his backpack, which contains his armour and other equipment, and then accompany Arienne through the arch to the grove.

Everyone but Kor has now made their way through the stone arch, weaponless.

Let's assume that Marlin is staying at the gate to guard the weapons. I shall assume that Kor leaves his weapons there as well.

The walk from the arch to the waterfall is a half mile or so through windy, twisty paths. You hear the waterfall long before you see it, even with the sound being muffled through the dense vegetation. Ferns grow everywhere and moss covers all the rocks. Even Kor doesn't think he's seen this much green in his life before. You have to be a little careful as you round a corner and the mist from the spraying water makes the path slick. The path doesn't seem particularly well used in any case. As you peer around the corner, you see an amazing sight. A waterfall, some 30 feet wide and nearly 100 feet tall, pours off the cliffside in a foamy white spray into an impossibly blue pool below. This travels a rocky stream bed back the way you came and is likely the stream near the town. Although the waterfall is loud, this place seems quiet, and it is very peaceful. Kor knows without a doubt that this is a sylvan glade, and all feel the sacredness of the place. Arienne stands in silence and holds Sterling's arm. Even Devia, usually the first to crack a joke, has no words.

After a long time spent standing and staring at the waterfall, Arienne gently tugs on Sterling's arm. "This is breathtaking," she says in a quiet voice. "Let's explore the town and see what opportunities are there."

Everyone files silently back out of the grove and back to the stone archway, where they pick up Marlin. They head back to the town and look around. The town of Eleri is smaller than Wendis, and you suspect there is less traffic here, though there appear to be some shipping lanes.

"Marlin, let's go explore the seedier side of town and see what we have to report," suggests Devia, and the pair go skipping off into the town proper, leaving Arienne and Kor standing with Sterling.

Looking around, there appear to be a few inns in the area, but there's also a number of structures near the docks that have scratch marks that could be from the fish people. There are also a few makeshift shrines near the docks with flowers around them, making you think they have lost some people.

"Where to start?" asks Arienne.
