Keith I think you have the patience you just spend it in your work and other hobbies :D

For me the patience is no longer necessary since I basically already know how to do it all and there's little pressure. I just put on a podcast and relax with it :)

I used to paint minis, many years ago. But I never treated it with the respect and skill I have seen you and others of my friends display. You guys care, and it shows.

Nice work! I think I might commandeer this thread for my upcoming painting project. A 'complete'[1] Blood Bowl elf team. This is the first time I am selecting each mini individually (rather than just buying a batch set).

[1] Meaning it has enough players of the right positions to be used for any of the four elf teams.

Hey you got any tips for someone just starting out? Namely, colors or painting brands for painting star wars Imperial Assault minis?

Gonna start a new thread, just checking to see if a painting thread existed already and came across this one.

Very nice work!

This guy has been doing Painting 101 stuff with the Dice Tower for a little while and he makes it look a little less intimidating.

Yeah, those vids are great. More than tips, there are a lot of basic, effective, and easy to learn/practice techniques that once you learn and paints a lot of models using them are easily expanded upon or refined.

Generally speaking though, start with small models with a low turnaround time to you get more practice faster, and honestly just experiment. Most of what I learned was just from trial and error.

And be sure to post progress pics!

Finished! I don't think it's my best work, but the solid even bright white body came out well and the colors and gun details really pop.
