Classic D&D modules revisited? What would your list be?

Postby BottledViolence » Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:31 pm

I've been kicking around the idea of doing a playthrough of the classic modules. Either using an older edition, or tweaking them for 3.5 or 5th. So what would your list be? What must haves? I'd like to start from 1st level and go from there. I know some of them don't really fit neatly in a line, so that's a consideration. I've only played a few of the real "classics" and the ones I did play through were so long ago they may as well be unknown to me.

You know, weird as it might sound, I've never actually played or run any of the classic modules. Not one.

Even I find that incredible! :wtf:

We didn't play many, but we did manage to get a hold of a few. I realized a few years ago that some of the best campaigns we had were based on published modules and I felt like I was missing out on a lot of the classics.

Of course even if you haven't played them, that doesn't mean the input isn't welcome. This is after all sparked by my urge to make a list of stuff I've either never played or haven't played in decades.
