Re: Episode 446 - Too Old to Punch

After having churned through so many artists, that's given me some confidence to try my hand at my own graphic novel idea. The art will be terrible, but maybe someone will see the story through that. Oh well. I need to focus on keeping this AP rolling and getting the first few episodes of Look...

Re: Episode 446 - Too Old to Punch

@John/@Hal - I'm hoping that explanation (the workout routine) is the only one they ever give. As the other characters note, it's just a vanilla strength training regimen that couldn't possibly account for his abilities. It adds to the absurdity of the whole thing, and I hope they never offe...

Re: Episode 446 - Too Old to Punch

I think my only point of disagreement is that the intro looks like the anime is about a bad idea taken seriously. It doesn't quite communicate the deadpan humor they use in the show and/or that the intro appearing so serious is just part-and-parcel of that humor. That said, I still get pumped every ...

Re: SoG AP Episode 0001

Did someone manufacture a whole bunch of revolvers and bolt action rifles in preference to other firearms at some point between present day and the time of the game? Regarding the PCs, I'm letting them explain that on their own, so I have no idea what the origin of their equipment is. However, the ...

Re: Episode 446 - Too Old to Punch

Dan, welcome to your 40's. ;) To hell if that shouldn't be the tagline for my week. I keep getting these moments where I intuitively know I'm onto something, but my ability to actually explain it is so poor that everyone thinks I'm nuts until a few minutes later when I'm proved right. Success (expl...

Re: Bonus Episode 74

I'd have to muddle this out a bit to put my finger on the distinction between "power-agnostic flavor" and "flavor that still provides a power boost by virtue of variety," but I see what you're getting at. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Fallout are coming to mind as games that at least me...

Re: Bonus Episode 74

I noticed that, too. The three or four bosses you hit on the climb up seemed to be a sort of gate or level check. If you can make it past them, you're probably fine for the end fight. Though I hear ya (Mikel) on the tendency of JRPGs to struggle balancing final bosses. Since there are so many hours ...

Re: Bonus Episode 74

While I'm not aware of anything that works as quickly and powerfully as venom (i.e. hit a button and become the size of a small car), our species has no shortage of experimentation with combat drugs going back millennia. And with modern pharmacology, we've only gotten better. Even if Nolan felt the ...

Re: Episode 445 - Twilight Struggle

Sounds like a Chris game. That's some cold shit. So as a ticketed con, SDCC is only a little bigger than Gencon, but gencon is better at dividing up the crowds. Thank you for the information! I was not aware. As the old saying goes, "There's lies, damn lies, and statistics." I just ...
