Working Class Mage

"Always be wary of recipes measuring in pinches and handfuls. Archmage Thistlebum was apparently a gnome, which explains so many things." "If a magic missile never misses, could it hit something that only existed in my mind? A hallucination? A mirage? What would it hit? Me?" &quo...

Re: Loosing Weight, Booter Style

I'm on a mission to lose every pound I gained in my last relationship (and maybe a few more). In the last 2 1/2 years, I've probably gained about 60 lbs or so (guesstimating). I'm not getting any younger, and now is as good of a time as any. So far, I've all but completely removed soda from my diet ...

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

My mother is putting a lot of pressure on me about the wedding. She's trying to be helpful, I get that; but sometimes I think it's better that she's 10 hrs away so I don't smack her. Tonight's topic: guest count. We've barely even considering putting together a list of people, but we want something...

Re: Happy Things Go Here

Music.

There's just something so viscerally sublime about putting on some good headphones and cranking up some great music. It has literally been months since I've done this. I don't know why, but I missed it so.

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

Actually, they may never cover it. I think a lot of American US History classes run out of time/interest after World War II. I would be surprised if he is going into his senior year without having taken US history class. I think they usually do that in the first two years. From my experience (takin...

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

Today was apparently my little brother's wedding day... I wasn't invited. Nor was any member of our extended family (to my knowledge). My brother and I aren't terribly close and never really have been, but considering both of our parents passed away years ago, we're all the family we really have. Wh...

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

I don't know why this bothers me so much, but when I buy something on Amazon described as "brand new - in original cellophane", I expect pretty close to exactly that, not half-destroyed, missing the box's lid, and obviously rewrapped.

Guess I'm reporting the seller to Amazon in the morning.
