Re: FFG's Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game Reprint

I have yet to play the FFG game, as my role playing hours have been limited for several years. I am intrigued by what I hear, if a bit intimidated by the odd dice (which I have been assured that I will get used to). The WEG version has always been in a weird position for me. I never felt that it ca...

Re: What's your current game doing?

One session in, we've shipwrecked, fought off a group of orc scouts, found safety, and decided we're switching systems because we're already tired of D&D.

Re: FFG's Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game Reprint

Any game that doesn't exclusively use d6's need special dice. The price of those dice is pretty insignificant as a percentage of the total cost of many gaming collections. I guess I am just enough (just?!) of a geek to think of polyhedral die as not being special die. I mean, it's pedantic of me to...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

I love the idea of combat with Big Hits, it has a cinematic feel to it. In REH's Conan stories our barbarian anti-hero doesn't hit a guy and then hit a guy again. He slays once and is content. That is more realistic as well. As a DM I will, if the hit is "big" enough and it seems cool, wi...

Re: Episode 493 Recycling Campaigns

Has anyone tried a revisit to a campaign? I don't want to say sequel but... um... :eh: sequel. Kind of. Every few years we end up getting the bug to recreate our original party and play in a new campaign with them. Like the multiverse keeps recomposing these same people over and over again. They do...

Re: FFG's Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game Reprint

Just flipping through it brought back ALL the nostalgia feels and reminded me why I fell in love with that game in the first place. WEG Star Wars is STILL my go to Star Wars game. The Fantasy Flight game scares me off with needing special die for it. FF games in general scare me off from the price ...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

From what I understand, Resonance is not getting great feedback and is looking like it will be modified. I don't love it as is. I ran about three-four encounters of the playtest scenario today and I have mixed feelings. We're going to finish the playtest after which I'm sure I'll have decided if I w...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

Thumbing through: I like how they did action economy. Otherwise, my typical Pathfinder gripe: "Wow....They made this really, really complex." I like Ancestry rather than Race as a title. Its weird that you get four different kinds of feats: ancestry feats, class feats, skill feats, and ge...

Pathfinder 2E Playtest

So I picked this up last week and haven't had any time to digest it, really. But what I've read so far I've found interesting. Maybe it's good, maybe it's bad. I don't know. But interesting.

Anybody else pick this up/read through it? What do you think?

I only know in passing the gist of Discord. But I'm certain technology is far more helpful in the area of mobile group communication than it was in the TOFtBCH heyday.
