Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

We had to say goodbye to the best dog in the house on Friday. Odie was 15+ (we're not exactly sure, he was a rescue dog). He had a bad back, was mostly blind, mostly deaf and had a growth in his stomach that would eventually kill him. But what made the decision was that he developed cognitive dysfu...

I don't either, that's why I'm interested in it. I'm not opposed to hand held gaming, there just hasn't been one with a library that interested me enough.

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

Oh man. I just had another thought... https://store.steampowered.com/app/1118310/RetroArch/ I'm getting a "Sorry that page is missing" error. I'm still curious what your thought was? RetroArch " RetroArch is an open source and cross platform frontend/framework for emulators, game eng...

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

Also, another point that I just saw is the fact that games on the switch are often inexplicably priced higher than everywhere else. Steam,On the other hand, has huge sales all the time. That's what immediately turned me away from getting a Switch in the past, and made me completely disregard the Sw...

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

Dawn loves portable gaming, it's not my thing. We got a reservation for one for her. The tech looks pretty nifty. I don't think it's a Switch killer and I don't think they will even try and compete with each other. It never even occurred to me that they would compete until the first person I mentio...

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

It's an intriguing piece of hardware, I think. I'd have to see more about compatibility and stuff. I think the pricepoint is very nice. That's where I'm at. I threw down my five bucks, we'll see how the compatibility stacks up. I can see it being a case where a handful of titles can make or break it.

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

I'm intrigued. The ability to be a little more flexible with my Steam library would be nice, including the ability to play on the TV. I mean, I might consider picking Blood Bowl 3 up on the PC instead of the Xbox if I could easily play it anywhere. BUT... I am nervous about what I'm hearing regardi...

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

Got a friend who's wanting one so he can more easily transport his VR stuff around, especially Beat Saber, without having to drag his entire PC around or buy tons of shit through the oculus store. Personally, I have no use for portable consoles in general. I hadn't even considered VR, that's an int...

Re: Anyone planning on picking up a Steam Deck?

I looked at it but not for that price. I'm happy with my switch for portable gaming. I said the same thing about the switch. The library isn't great for me and the games it does have that I'm interested in I already have on Steam for the most part. That means I would be paying a hell of a lot...
