Re: Happy Things Go Here

For me it's the "downtime" factor. How long does it take to charge? I can stop at a gas station and have a full tank in a matter of minutes. Hours and hours of charging? No thanks I'm the same except the opposite. Stopping at the gas station is the down time I want to avoid. The car...

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

Whelp, the Wood Elf team roster got leaked. I am not happy at all. Not happy enough that I am seriously considering sitting this edition of the game out. I said the same thing after LRB 3 or 4. We had two seasons of a 3rd ed league instead but after that i don't think any of us played again. Every ...

Re: Happy Things Go Here

My aunt sent me some slides of my dad as a kid. He died when I was only 3, and it was from fire in our house, so I have very few memories of him. My wife bought me a slide scanner for our anniversary, and I am finally able to scan and see these! It's fantastic! I also picked up some colorizing soft...

Re: Happy Things Go Here

the technology is there to program robocars that are safer drivers than humans (or perhaps that it already HAS endured beyond that point). Statistically, that is a hilariously low bar to clear. Everyone likes to think they're one of the people that are actually really good and reliable drivers, but...

Re: Random Forum Thoughts.

Don't buy a bed from Kohls. My sis bought one for herself and a month later the plastic dowels sheered clean off. I fixed it but by screwing some 2x4s into the frame. Plastic dowels as a structural portion of the frame? :wtf: Yeah I had to read that a couple times too  There is a price of pa...

Re: Happy Things Go Here

I actually predict that liability will work in the other direction, at the consumer level anyway. As the robocar becomes a practical alternative for most people, the cost of insuring yourself as a driver will go up. The risk pool will get smaller as everyone who isn't a car enthusiast leaves it, an...

Re: Random Forum Thoughts.

It's more that I'd rather have a well sorted 4 than a V6, but the straight 6 is better than either. Drives me barmy how thoroughly regulated Formula 1 engines are now, they might as well just turn it into a spec series given they're far enough down the rabbit hole to have specified the bore, and th...

Re: Happy Things Go Here

I see a fully autonomous (fully legal, full time hands off controls) happening before more EVs are sold than ICE. I see that happening in over the road trucking before it hits in the consumer market. Trains have been like this for awhile now. I think that gas consumer cars will be always be produce...
