Re: Episode 137

I wouldn't call it an overload of useful advice, but it's one of the funniest episodes I've heard. Had me grinning to myself several times on the train to work. There's nothing about meat suits that isn't funny.

Re: What have you watched recently?

Recently started watching the Planet of the Apes movies, which I hadn't seen before. I LIKE THEM A LOT.

Re: Episode 128

Whenever Fear the Boot talks about gaming in society it makes it sound like it's about equivalent to Communism in, say, the '30s or '40s. Either you are a "geek" or you aren't as if it's some non-visible genetic trait, and if the wrong people find out your social life or career or marriage...

Re: Episode 126

I would imagine that the GM doing all the rolling is a D&D thing to hide the mechanics because, obviously, D&D is a numbers game. When the players have the dice, like it or not and try to or not, the language does become "I roll to hit" and "I made my save" and "what...

Re: Episode 123

A friend of mine once wrote and ran a Heavy Gear convention scenario where all the player characters were insurgent members of the Badlands Revolutionary Front, with the twist that they were all plants from various intelligence agencies and such, unbeknownst to each other. Apparently it ended with a...

Re: Bonus Episode 23

I'm voting for Geoff because although it sounds like a horrendous amount of work in a D&D game (as does most stuff), his advice on giving players a chance to use every ability their character has is really great. What Keith had to say about considering repercussions of characters' actions betwee...

Re: Episode 119

Late to the game because my Internog access died. Regarding the hero thing; well, for a start, anybody in real life who would describe themselves as a hero is too far up their own arse to know what's going on. I don't think anyone who can be taken seriously sees themselves as some sort of analogue t...

Re: Car History

Just the one, it was great but frankly I much prefer not having to own a car.

Edit: Oh yeah, and it's a '95 Mercedes-Benz E320.

Re: Motivational Posters

Cats should have a bacterial bite in D&D a small housecat bit my mom and she had to go to the hospital 3 times before they got the right antibiotic to fight it. Her arm swelled up twice it's size. Cat bites are dangerous. But if you were going to introduce that rule, you'd need a similar rule f...
