Re: Mad Max: Fury Road

I just got home from seeing this. I've never seen a Mad Max movie before. Oh my god this was fantastic. This is probably one of my favourite action movies now, it is just nuts. I was very hesitant after the first few minutes, the effects and props didn't look too great and I was confused as all hell...

Re: Patreon Poll

FYI: Stripe fees (credit card) - 1.9% + $0.30 per transaction. PayPal fees - 5% + $0.05 per transaction. Plus Patreon has a 5% fee. I'll all but guarantee all fees are calculated off the base payment. So, the fees on a $.50 credit card subscription would be ~$.34. You could, presumably, bleed someo...

Re: Patreon Poll

Ikoma, the problem is that if you just support someone for 50 cents, most of that will be eaten up by fees. If you're spending only a dollar on patreon I've heard that 30 cents is taken up in credit card fees, then patreon take their 25% cut, so the artist only get about 50 cents on that dollar. If...

So these are amateur doodles captured on a phone camera. You're in for quality here.

Bastion fandoodles. These are based off other art by the way, I claim no originality. (edit: originals here and here)

Re: Patreon Poll

I have a bunch of people that I want to support but since I'm still a student I can't regularly budget for this sort of thing regularly so I make one-off donations or purchases to artists I like. After I graduate I fully intend to give to a few patreons (though I have Ikoma's problem of not having a...

Re: Random Forum Thoughts.

Thanks to the Maori of New Zealand, we get blessed with this beast: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu Translates to: "The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, play...

Re: Social Anxiety

I can't really help give advice on the social anxiety side, I can only wish you the best of luck, but I've been in a similar position of missing the hobby and the people that made the hobby great. I think tombombadil's advice is pretty solid, looking into other ways to scratch that itch. What worked...

Re: Journey to the West

So I read the first 'book' (an arbitrary division specific to the version I was reading), I think I got to the point of Wukong being released from his prison. Honestly, it felt like reading Lord of the Rings, both for good and for ill. You get a lot of cool mysterious stuff happening but unless you ...

Re: Grumbly Things Go Here

There is obviously a tipping point where increased copays no longer save money, and there are other options like free physicals or health screenings. No copay plans are a proven loser from a cost benefit standpoint, just like so many other zero cost to the user services. For some, a $20 copay is pe...
