Re: What's your current game doing?

One of my players died in my dnd 5e game. It came down to one last death save and a 50/50 chance of survival and he failed. A small part of it was my fault because I threw a beefed up Sauhagin at them thinking they were level 5 (the are 4.) BUT they've gotten so used to just fighting without using a...

Re: Challenging Book Recommendation - HELP

Trying to come up with a recommendation for this post made me realize how practically all of my fiction reading is just comic books and sword & sorcery (both modern and classic.)

Re: What's your current game doing?

This is also the first time i've had a group get tempted by the new shiny. Now everyone is excited about the prequel games and less excited about running in the present day. I even had one player who never does an ounce of work outside the game (won't even read the players handbook) and he sent me t...

Re: What's your current game doing?

The prequel game went amazingly well. I'd say this is my best attempt at almost completely improvising scenarios on the spot. This is also the first game I've ever ran where the players and I basically forgot about the dice and just role played. A three hour session with only 5 dice rolls and three ...

Re: What's your current game doing?

One of my players has been out for a few weeks because of personal reasons. But the rest of the players really want to game. So i suggested a series of one shot prequel games. The idea is that each one shot focuses on an important part of the PCs backstory. And everyone but the one PC is playing an ...

Re: What Video Games are you playing?

That’s fair. I’ve only played a couple hours of the first paper Mario and most of superstar saga for gba.

They were fun. But they feel more Nintendo than jrpg if that makes sense.

Re: What Video Games are you playing?

I'm about halfway through Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The gameplay is nowhere near as interesting or fun as Paper Mario, but the story telling bits are still somewhat charming. I can see why people have fond memories of this game. In the second grade it was my third favorite thing i...

Re: Bonus Episode 83

I’ve been wanting an episode like this. You could do one of these every three months and I’d be happy. The role playing stuff is nice, but I’d happily listen to a “Dan and friends talk about things they like” podcast. Next time Wayne list off what comics you’ve enjoyed recently. What I'm really enj...

when i had a sleep study done they kept beating around the bush after the study, giving me this long winded roundabout answer. I finally just outright asked them if I needed it and they said no.
