I really like Gene Colan and Marie Severin's art on his solo series.

Gene Colan was awesome, almost too good for comics. Marie Severin was criminally underrated.

General wankishness, of which I have no tolerance for.
On the FtB fprums if someone goes off on a wank it is usually preceded by a statement to that fact or afterwards an apology for going off on a wank. Not a rant. I see a rant as someone just going off and there it is.

Re: Fear the Comics

I spend a lot of time in a comics Slack and someone was talking about wanting to read more Osamu Tezuka. His simple but fluid style made me want to check it out. So i'm 150 pages into Astro Boy omnibus vol. 1. These stories were written in the 1950s and it feels a little ahead of its time. These co...

I wasn't going to check this out but I really have to now that I know that there is a Kamandi short on it.

Re: Fear the Comics

I bought SO many books this week. I'm still working through them. A few comments on ones I have read so far: ⋅ Beta Ray Bill #2- I'm not sure if it is just a stylistic choice that I am not caring for or if this is just an artist that is not for me. ⋅ Action Comics#1030- I have b...

Re: Fear the Comics

Post New Comics Wednesday 4/28/2021 So I got yesterday Fantastic Four #30 and 31 [My last physical issue but I got the code out and read it digitally.] and I must say that I loved it, once they got past the King In Black nonsense and into the very family oriented story it was great. Slott used the K...

Re: Fear the Comics

I read very little manga, I'm to Western in my comics appreciation. I don't watch much anime eithe rbut I have seen some of the "big ones" like Princess Mononoke, Akira, Robotech Macross. That said I LOVE Lone Wolf & Cub which is pretty graphic at times. Okay, I am a BIG Usagi Yojimbo ...

Re: Fear the Comics

I LOVE Kamandi, but have never cared for New Gods. I like much more grounded stories. I have all of the Kirby Kamandi stories in original issues. Try this on for size then: Every cosmic story that Kirby did (New Gods, Eternals, Captain Victory) all take this BIG concept and "bring it down"...
