Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

A lot of folks are using Blades in the Dark as a replacement system for Shadowrun. Everything that I have heard about BitD, as far as setting is concerned, does not appeal to me. I have not been sold on it, it seems more of someone's personal fiction turned into an RPG. That's ok, I'm sure a lot of...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

Outside of a few other games that are founded on crunch I have found PF 2E to be existential gaming peanut brittle. So... the act of consuming it is wildly unpleasant and the flavor is awful? Sounds like Shadowrun. You know I like Shadowrun, ok I like the idea of Shadowrun but thus far have not rea...

Re: Where do you get your setting names from?

My personal home brew D&Dish setting name has been since junior high: Evermore. As in or from Battle of Evermore from Led Zeppelin IV. Basically it is anything I want to cram into a setting and it doesn't have to make sense as it is a kind of nexus of realities. Far to the north there is a land ...

For the Gen Con Booters...

Just saw a news story here: https://www.wishtv.com/news/local-news/scotty-s-brewhouse-files-chapter-11-four-locations-to-close/1655550009 . We live here and outside of meeting Booters there at Gen Con we don't go to Scotty's much. Anyway the downtown location, where I have had some good times with f...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

But the new kids, on the other hand, want to try everything new. Hyperborea, Blades in the Dark, Mythras; if it's not DnD then they're stoked. It's a much better fit for me as a person that needs a lot of variance to keep having fun. My new group of work/nerd friends is up for D&D 5e right now....

Re: Is the red box still a thing?

I'm going to throw this out there. edit: also anybody whom has their own bargle stories, let's here them. How did you defeat this meanie wizard? According to the "Gygaxian model" this is how you run and teach and learn how to RPG. It is still viable but it can be so much more than that. A...

Re: Pathfinder 2E Playtest

Gaming time as an adult is sometimes too hard to come by so we don't have time for Not Fun. This is the truth of all truths. There was a time when we had four hours a week to spare on a terrible game because it was easier than leaving or telling an offensive player to leave. But that time ended wit...
