Seeing these pics makes me seethe with frustration! I had planned on going to Emerald City Game Fest for about a month in advance, and then I heard, oh do my ears deceive me, I heard that THE HAIR was going to be there! Joy of joys! And then my girlfriend invited me to visit her that weekend. We hadn't seen each other in over a month, and clearly I wanted to go, and it was the more important thing. There was no choice, no choice. I had to miss out. I would have chosen the same if I could do it again, but oh the frustration, oh the rage at the pain the gods like to visit upon me!

I'll echo that it was nice to meet Dan (and Text) face-to-face. Thanks for the invite. I'm just sorry that my reprieve from family life did not extend to going to the con the next day.
I had a great time at the party. It was pretty much one of those stand around the kitchen and/or living room affairs, but I like those much better than drinking binges and loud music. The hosts were charming and the food was great. I spent a lot of time talking to Jeff Grubb, game author from back in My Day.

Having gone to Emerald City Gamefest, I can say I had fun. The morning game I played in was a 4th Ed Forgotten Realm D&D game that was s sneak-peak at some of the features of Downshadow by Eric Scott de Bie. The afternoon game was a Hollow Earth Expedition game Gmed by Tim Brown (who has GMed other con games I have played in the past).

. . . and Dan, it was nice to meet you face to face.

Check out pictures I took at Emerald City Gamefest via my camer phone:

When playing Arkham Horror, I tend to wind up as a sort of DM-by-default, and still run an investigator or two. It can lead to conflicts of interest, but I've dumped on my own investigators as much as others...
