Chris, you should look into the product “Shotgun Diaries” which is available on DriveThruRPG for $5. It’s a very quick-and-easy system designed around a zombie survival horror game. As written, it’s a system that relies upon the players being involved in the narration of the game, but that could certainly be shifted if you want a more “traditional” GM-narrated game. Anyway, for $5 it’s worth checking out for your Left 4 Dead RPG!

Bards & Gnolls? Isn’t that a popular in game book store? lol

Zombies!!! by Twilight Creations Inc is great for a quick & easy game. True, it’s a board game, (or variable tile game if you want to be specific) but you get out however much immersion everyone playing puts into it. It’s also nice to be able to grab a cheap bag of 100 zombie minis.

Actually I’ll be loaning my bag of zombies to Chris for his game. I like the game, but have never played it with more than two players. I would love to have a big game with some of the expansions.

Wayne, No need my friend. My FLGS had the ‘Bag’ so I bought it.

For a Left 4 Dead RPG spinoff, don’t forget Left 4:16 Dead, which combines the fun and easy 3:16 rules with a zombie apocalypse setting: http://pcdw.wikidot.com/games:left-4:16-dead

My pet peeve is meta discussions on podcasts. “What are we gonna talk about?” “How much time should we each talk?”

DragonhelmAugust 13th, 2010 at 7:26 pm

My pet peeve is “my bad.” This suggests that a person, place, or thing known as a “bad” belongs to me.

What is a bad anyway?

I agree. I would like to add that when you take on the Mantle of DM you need to be as objective and fair as possible. DM’s don’t get to take out your frustration on players “in game”. You save it for after session and point out the issues like an adult, not like like a whiny bitch. – Yeah I have a social re-tard as a DM atm.
