Bonus Episode 33 – Fleet Week
by Dan Repperger

This episode was originally intended to be 193.  However, we never quite got to the RPG topic, so we’re releasing it as a bonus episode instead.

* (0:07) Chad’s dad and 24.

* (12:16) The TOFTBCH network is back for Gen Con 2010!  If you want to be involved (and believe me, you do) be sure to sign up here.

* (16:41) Con Planner is now open for use by other conventions!  You can see the list of features in development on the About page.

* (19:10) A bunch of stuff about Dr. Who.  For anyone that’s interested, here’s Haunted St. Louis and Haunted Missouri.

* (41:40) A near miss on an actual RPG topic leads to a discussion about pets and their rare involvement in RPG sessions.  The website I mentioned is Dog Breed Info.

Hosts: Chad, Chris, Dan, Pat, Wayne

For Chris Hussey:

A capsule intro of every Dr. Who from 1963 right after the JFK assasination to roughly 2008/2009 ? David Tennant ‘s incarnation of the Doctor.

Dr. Who – I liked Eccleston, but Tennant knocked my socks off. Great actor.

“Breakfast Bar” is an acceptable term for the kitchen-dining room connector. Some also call it a “pass-through”. If it has no upper cabinets and is detached at one end, it’s a peninsula.

Ecceleston was the badass leather jacket wearing dangerous incarnation of the doctor.
Tennant brought back the eccentric mad scientist with the heart of gold with a sense of style doctor. He had an undercurrent of don’t screw with me but not near the visceral I will kill you look of Eccleston.

and Matt Smith comes right out and says “Don’t you know who I am? I’m the Doctor B*TCH”

That was one of my problems with the first few episodes of his run. They were fixated on everyone knowing of the doctor and him having a legend around him.

Great show. I liked the pet stories. I believe in one of the Tennant episodes, he runs into a character that knows him from her past but so far our Doctor has not met her. If I remember right, she was supposed to be his wife.

I would really love to learn more about Dr. Who. I’m just afraid of the buy-in time. That’s a lot of seasons to catch up on!

Looking forward to your episode on animal companions. That’s an issue that has been around my characters for years.
