Of course he’s real. Just ask Chris he knew him before he was a saint.

I find that the general philosophy of improv (“yes, and” or “Yes, but”) necessary for RPGing. I usually consider it bad roleplaying if a PC tends to say “No”, meaning that they shoot down what the PCs are trying to do.

I really liked this episode, I’m in improv myself.

@Xoph: ‘Shoot down’? Different people have different opinions, that’s why they disagree. The grizzled, hardened veteran won’t agree with the innocent idealist. Good RPing requires you to say ‘no’ or ‘but’.
The ‘yes, and…’ rule is important in improv because it gives a scene momentum. Otherwise the world has no sense of reality-
“We’re on a rocket ship to the moon!”
“No we aren’t. Just drive me to the mall, Dad.”

Revisiting old campaigns. You know, that sounds familiar somehow. ;)

I am catching up on old shows and when the discussion on Improv started, I thought of the character Michael Scott from the Office and the improv classes he went to where no matter what the other person said, he would pull out a gun and shoot them. Needless to say, he was not the most popular person there.
