Why is pretty much everyone an Arakocra, regardless of post count?

I've never liked how showing post counts sometimes causes members to post needlessly just to get their count up, kinda sad really. The same potential could come from rewarding higher post count with "higher" titles. What just seems odd to me if that it seems like you where implementing a system based on the MM, but never quite did.

So, any plans for forum titles that aren't hand created?

I'm a "Monostat Fanfic Writer" which is a forum-generated title.
Above that is "LF's frikin' laser attendant"
Below it is "I am the story stick"
Then "Teller of gaming stories"
and finally "Aarakocra"

So that's five levels.

I make the titles and it's just about every 500 post a new one comes up.

Also, we are not getting rid of post counts or the titles. I'm not going to get into why as, to me, that is:


(we have had this debate several times over both forums and post counts are not going anywhere)



I don't know what MM stands for but the system we have seems to be working just fine and is fully implemented. Some people are getting close to the last custom title I added so I'll have to go in and add some more, perhaps after Fear the Con when I have more time.



I'm not sure what you asking for here. I have made all the titles on these forums and 90% of the titles on the old forums. The only way to create the titles is to hand create them. So... no?

I suspect he means Monster Manual... as in, Arakocra to Zombie. That actually could have been a cute way to "rank" people by title (and, if memory serves, y'all did discuss on the podcast the "featureless void" and fighting all the monsters in order), but at the same time that would have been a massive amount of work to put in all those titles.

That is what I meant and assumed that's what the system was so had not recognized the actual system in place. Thanks for whoever above it was that posted what you are using.

The first run of 500 posts is a little steep. Chad, would you consider breaking that up at maybe...

0 - 1 Spambot
2 - 99 - something
100 - 249 - something
250 - 499 something

Id say maybe every 250 instead of 500.

Or heck, just make it random. 2-43 and 44-172. Then 173-190. Just to keep people guessing.
