Welcome Grim. A friend of mine spent July in New Zealand skiing.

Welcome to the Boot.

(A double meaning here, since Boot is boat in German, and now you are in our boat; or you could say we're all in the same boat, or is that Boot?)

Nevermind... Welcome! :D

Hi to you all, and thanks for the warm welcome.

Yeah, the kiwi is a strange little bird, standing about 1 foot tall, and having an egg the size of an ostrich. I know someone who had his rib broken by one. he was on maneuvers, when the point indicated that everyone should hit the ground. He dropped onto the kiwi's nest tunnel. It wasn't impressed. It tried to clear the blockage by kicking him so hard his rib went.

New Zealand is really pretty, and my girl and I go touring every holidays. I only wish there were more FtB gamers in NZ, then we could have a WWWN here. I'm sick of trying to get my gaming group enthused about it. I guess we'll just have a WWBBQN instead.

Heh, I never realised they were such stroppy little blighters.

Nothing like the mild and reserved namesakes that inhabit these islands, eh?

(And it's a true story, its amazing what they'll do when you're lying on their nest.)

Don't see why not. <checks "social" calendar> It looks like I'm on call that week, but that could change.

But have you ever been anywhere that does genuine wings?

Real Buffalo wings? No, but Nando's do a plate of wings, and they're all over Auckland.

I tried to Google it, but kept getting franchise sites. I'll try again when I'm awake.
