This sort of player impetus, via Beliefs, is one reason I'm enamored with Burning Wheel.

And I'd like to play in a Burning Wheel campaign, just to experience that. I've played in "The Gift" at a convention, and it was a ton of fun but I'd really like to see the results of Beliefs during a campaign.

Regarding Bruce Banner learning to control his Hulk form, I got the impression that the conversation with the old guy in the warehouse had something to do with it. Banner asked something along the lines of, "Did I hurt anyone?" and the old man said that, no, he fell in an unpopulated place. He then added that he was conscious when he fell, perhaps suggesting that Banner had enough control over his Hulk form to guide himself away from innocents.

The simple existence of the scene suggested that is was some sort of character development scene, though it was a bit obtuse in that respect.

“Son, you have a condition.”

I would argue it was still more of a "what" and not a "how." i.e. - here's proof that the Hulk has a measure of control over his action, and that Dr. Banner is in there, somewhere. Still, no explanation on what, if anything, changed. Hell, maybe nothing - maybe it just took some time him to adapt to his new form.

Right, but that gave him the confidence to voluntarily Hulk out and fight.

The hulk/banner relationship is inconsistent in comics since each author has had his own interpretation. That being said I think his I am angry all the time comment speaks more to compromise where hulk has some control in banner and banner is also not fully hulk. The Avengers cartoon on Netflix shows a similar albeit more fleshed out relationship.
On Thanos, Death has. Physical manifestation in the marvel verse and Thanos fell in love with her. His irrational goal is best looked at through the lense of worshipful love (which is still irrational but more relatable). Love the podcast.

I just threw a bunch of the Infinity *** books from Amazon on my wishlist. When I've got the money to spare, I'll order them. I chose the Infinity War and Mavel Universe: The End and The Thanos Imperative.
