The dials are stiff and new as Terra rotates them to reflect that day, so long ago, when the drow rose up against their masters and bought their freedom with blood. Nothing. The scorrow glares down at the despondent group with it's stony gaze.

Wicky, it occurs to you that the creation of a scorrow is not a voluntary process. It would be a torturous and debilitating process, something reserved for criminals, betrayers, and people who know how to read (as clearly indicated by the atrocious spelling of the words you translated on the creature's chest). The individual "ruined" would not have been in their prime.
