Additional note not in the scrambled text. My wife and son both read parts of what I scrambled, and actually they did a lot better than I expected. However, there were words that they just couldn't guess and others that they fairly confidently identified as a completely different word. So while there's maybe more truth to the claim than I expected before performing the experiment, I think that I'm born out in my impression that the de-motivational poster didn't really scramble the letters any way at all but picked ones that would be easier to parse.

I read your first passage a little slower than the second, and only two words gave me problems, I used the context and deciphered and moved on. Commercially and predicting were the ones that caused me to pause. The first and last letter give you the pieces to assemble most words, and the poster does not say truly random, it gives a set parameter for deciphering. People who are good a code start to see coded messages as the words they represent.

You should look at the curriculum of different speed reading classes. Some people train themselves to read at astonishing speeds by working with simple pattern recognition. Also, Leet speek, you can train yourself to read it as text.

I wonder if being slightly dyslexic helps?
