Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (OOC Thread)
Just got a few min to read through the OOC thread...
According to the PHB, and the Fighter's HB, a character cannot dual wield weapons of the same size unless they are both size 'Small'. The larger weapon must be in the main hand. If the character takes Ambidexterity, they can use either hand as their main hand and it reduces their penalties by 2 in each hand (but will never give a bonus to hit, only negate penalties). Two-weapon fighting style (both it and Ambi are in the Fighter's HB) allows a character to wield two weapons with sizes larger than "S" in each hand and reduces penalties by 2 again. In Joshua's case, since he's a ranger, he has no penalties to begin with, but by taking the 'two weapon style' weapon proficiency, he would be allowed to dual wield short or long swords without incident.
Also, because he is a ranger (unless he takes the Justifier kit), he cannot specialize (something only fighters can do).
This is, of course, according to the printed rules, and whatever goat rules supercedes this.

I was going to be, but my wife's sciatica turned out to be masking a ruptured disc. She's not able to care for the baby on her own, so I can't make it out this year. I'm disappointed, but what are you gonna do?

I'm sorry to hear that, goat, about your wife's medical difficulties and about you not being able to come up. I hope we'll see you next year.

Working on a map right now. I'll post it likely within the hour.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (OOC Thread)
Gordon, as well as the tactical good sense of not splitting the party and wandering off to get killed by demons, I'm also considering the game and the other players. If we explore whole sections of the dungeon on our own we're not giving the others the chance to get involved. That's not really fair. Fortunately the IC and OOC reasons concur in this case.
