 Re: Mechwarrior Online
In this case, the best option is to wait and see.

 Re: Mechwarrior Online
I am not aware of any effective ECM/EW technology in tabletop Battletech or Mechwarrior.
It's my impression that the universe has to basically handwave electronic targeting out of existence. Speed (however slow) and distance (however close) affecting targeting is a critical component of game balance, and in its service we ignore wholesale anything that would suggest that these mechs would be outrageously easy to hit by any semi-modern targeting system, to say nothing of a modern or future/advanced one.
B-tech likes to present itself as grimdark, military, hard science fiction...but it is most certainly not.

Ghost targets and ECCM come to mind, as does plugging into a satellite...but that's basically it. I think the fluff is something silly like "There's so much interference that this is all you can manage". Which is dumb. I like EW.

 Re: Mechwarrior Online
I like it too. I piloted a Scorpion in c4 and c5 wormholes for some time in EVE. 8 ECM modules means seldom having to say "ow ow ow heal me".

 Re: Mechwarrior Online
Yeah, the downside is that challenging/lucrative solo play is impossible in a dedicated ECM ship.
I found solo play in EVE unbearably boring anyway, though - and unbearably less profitable than operating with even a very small team. So I never missed it when I went full bore support role.

 Re: Mechwarrior Online
Well that's why I asked. i play Eve and I love ECM, I fly falcons and Scorps etc. and wondered if it was the same. I live in WHs so ECM can be a game changer in fleets
