That looks very hard to walk in.

I admit, I didn't even see the high heels the first time I looked; those are ridiculous, and the shoulder-pads aren't much better.

Where do these girls come from? I've never seen anyone who looks remotely like this at any con I've been to (that wasn't paid to be there.)

Those look more like Professional models/costumes and photographbers than con cosplayers...

I've seen some cosplayers on that level. Most of the really ridiculous ones look like they're from a big anime convention, or maybe Dragon*Con or SDCC.

A lot of cosplayers are actually models because they get to wear stuff they make at home and have some fun with fantasy properties - Ruby Rocket is one I can think of off the top of my head.

My wife was a model and I have other family who have modeled. It's not a matter of "hot models over here and gross anime gothappotami over here and n'er shall the two cross."

This is my new favorite pejorative term.
