My brother wrote a song about a burger being too hot to eat. Sounds like a love song. It's not.

We also wrote a song using nothing but lines from a "friend" of ours. He was so full of crap. Oddly enough when he heard the song he really liked it. We also haven't seen him in 5 years.

I took a Creative Writing class a couple semesters ago, but I can't honestly remember what flashdrive I put the documents from all the stuff on, or where I put it if I saved them at all.

You could maybe do a "Versus" song... lots of comedic potential there.

"The Ballad of Samwise and Rosie."

It was less a thread and more a small derailment in the headdesk thread where I nerd raged at a podcast, and discovered what nerd rage looks like from the inside.

When I'd hang out at my ex's house when they were writing or coming up with stuff, what helped was just writing exactly what was coming to your mind at the moment and rolling with it. Don't worry about a topic, let it be as random as possible, and then after you've got enough lines, just edit it and change it from there.
That method produced:

"His follicles are laced with Bob Dylan
Mr. Tambourine Man I'm followin
Turn the key but the engine wont start
Actin dumb, but I'm feeling kind of smart
Live down the street from that Tony kid
Wanna hang out but he's kind of a skid
mark"


They always write the instrument parts first, though.
