Nothing in particular. I'm just going by the art, music and pop culture associated with the decade. Similarly, the 70' continued till about 1982. I think there's a 2-3 year bleed-over into the next cultural decade. I also, don't think it's obvious what typifies a reminiscence of the decade for at least 10-15 years anyway. So we won't know when the 90's ended for another 4-5 years.

I've noticed this too and I totally agree. I was shocked, shocked I say, when I realized that pop culture trends don't transition neatly on the calendar year.
