 Re: Popular RPG Systems
Some of these are probably stretching the definition of "popular"

 Re: Popular RPG Systems
(Fun with English) Popular is a hold over from the original list. I'll see about editing the topic title to something else. Of course, what is popular is also a matter of individual experience. -- TAZ

Just a couple of additions... TRINITY. White Wolf's far future Sci-Fi game set in a world where powerful psionics explore the universe and try to keep the peace. http://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=906ABERRANT. the White Wolf superhero game. a variant on the storyteller system, and a lot of fun, but out of print. it was republished as a D20 system. http://whitewolf.wikia.com/wiki/AberrantADVENTURE White Wolf's pulp hero game, full of mystery, suspense, and plenty of 2 fisted action. http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=5&it=1&filters=0_0_10110_0These three games were the basis for White Wolf's OTHER universe. set in three different time periods, and encompassing an entire world and history. it was discontinued a few years ago, but its still worth checking out... And while i know I'm in the minority on this, i think this was the better of WW's two worlds... just saying EDIT.. ok they are there, but under the single listing of AEON... that title had to be scrapped due to the MTV cartoon series of the same name... sorry i missed them... And a few other unrelated games sitting on my shelf that i haven't seen listed yet.... JUSTIFIERS you are a Beta, a Beta class humanoid sent to explore new planets cause you're expendable. Its a fascinating concept. engineered animal-people used as coal-mine-canaries. not a nice world, but one full of role play possibilities http://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=1621MEKTON anime mecha combat set in a galactic empire that captures the feel of anime better than any other game ive seen. not terribly rules heavy, unlike most Mech games, but a lot of fun. its the game system Cyberpunk was developed from. http://www.mektonzeta.com/BATTLELORDS OF THE 23rd CENTURY a loud obnoxious Sci Fi game that is so in your face, over the top fun you don't care if its a little inconsistent. Its a beer and pretzels roller coaster that is just plain and simply a HOOT! http://www.ssdc.com/battlelords/newbieJust a few of the odd things sitting on my shelf...

I've had discussion with Churcher and Xsgtdanusmc about creating something like this list, only in a different fashion. I may need to move forward with those plans... (OK, I probably won't, but ask Church and Dan: it was a great idea...)

Trinity is, imo, the most underrated and underappreciated sci-fi game ever. I still dig out my original Aeon deluxe edition, with the coil binding and plastic cover, when the urge to play some sci-fi strikes.
