 Equestria needs YOU! OOC
SOooo... I've been enduring a bit of a gaming dry spell (a failed skype game, my home game getting derailed by school, and the incredible amounts of bureaucracy I'm going through here), and I'm really jonesing for some collaborative storytelling. So I'm throwing it out there here with some PbP antics. I'm willing to run a game/campaign set in my own dark mirror version of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic universe. Anyone interested? Now with super polling action! And the system is Panty Explosion Perfect (which none of us technically own yet!) Okay: First post is becoming the resources post. Sweet! Welcome aboard Bronies. I guess the first point of business is to decide if We're using a system or not. There is a fan made Savage worlds MLP expansion (it's pretty good) on Deviantart (which isn't letting me link). Though it's still being play tested, and when I ran the first game of this I just used SWEE. But it's not our only option (Risus springs to mind or we could Free -form this jam).

apologies but i only have a passing familiarity with the SW systems, if this excludes me so be it, however if this is no big issue, then lets do it.

Re: Equestria needs YOU! (An interest thread)
Will lurk since MLP fandom entertains me. [In a positive way, no mockery intended.]
Regarding system, Wushu gives the players a lot of narrative control and tends toward the players coming out on top. I also could see making a Ghost/Echo style template for MLP:FiM. Dangers become disappointments and misunderstandings. Otherwise it plays about the same and the G/E play by post game worked well here. [It ran out of steam, but I think that was because we tried it as a GM-less thing.] You could also run something with Inspectres which is lite and easily hackable. Silly name aside, Panty Explosion Perfect would work as well with its friend/rival mechanics. You just have animated ponies instead of anime school girls (just swap out the psychic power for a cutie mark power or something.) -- TAZ

To be honest with ya shifty I'm a very hand wavy "for the good of the fun" kinda GM. So, fear not for a lack of rules knowledge. Now if you don't consider horror "fun" then it might be an issue. At Zirch: I've been looking at Panty with interest (wow... that sounds awful out loud), and it does indeed look cool.

My opinion lies with the SW system, it's lite enough to move quickly, but still has a bit of custimization to it.

Re: Equestria needs YOU! (An interest thread)
I'm for Panty Explosion Perfect. Don't have the book, but other than the psychic powers part, most of the important parts can be summed up without the book (yay, systems that can be condensed into a three-page instructional manga). Now if Found in the Alley would ever get out their Panty Explosion actual play, maybe I could actually stitch together the only bits of the system I'm missing. ShiftyRifter wrote: apologies but i only have a passing familiarity with the SW systems, if this excludes me so be it, however if this is no big issue, then lets do it. Core mechanics of Savage Worlds are really simple, and we'd all be learning the MLP construct anyways. RussellEldrin wrote: My opinion lies with the SW system, it's lite enough to move quickly, but still has a bit of custimization to it. And yet, it might be the crunchiest thing suggested so far.
