OMG I just realized that Apple Buck Season has a Night of the Lepus referrence in it!

Re: My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
I have to wonder if the apparent 'vampire' references were intentional. There are also characters named 'Spike' and 'Angel'.

Well Spike's a hold over from the old show, but angel... I can't deny that one.

Re: My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
Okay, so I'm now horribly, horribly conflicted. I have reached an age where I have no problem watching little kids' cartoons, even ones meant for little girls, if they're cool. And the PPG/SJ team has nothing but mad respect from me in those terms (my biggest problem with SJ was that it was a bit harder to just watch a single random episode of, which is often all my tv-schedule allows for--PPG episodes, once you knew the premise, were pretty self-contained, even if there were references). But MLP... *Sigh* My Worse Relationship Ever was with a girl who'd never gotten over her MLP obsession. So my memories of the bleakest years of my life are interspersed with memories of stopping at every last garage sale and flea market in the "hope" that there would be some My Little Pony toys on sale. So, yeah, I fear watching this could trigger flashbacks....

@Freemage. I Think you'll be alright with this show. I never watched the old MLP and from what I've heard I haven't missed out on anything. MLP:FiS takes all the character development lessons the creative team learned with previous projects and applies them to great effect. Worst case scenario you have a few drinks before an episode to mellow you out. If Deadpool can enjoy MLP:FiS, so can you.

If it helps I can say that this one bears little resemblance to previous incarnations of the show. The writing is meant to be enjoyed by a broad audience as opposed to merely tolerated by the older one, the characters are complex and multi-layered as opposed to stereotypical, and the FIM ponies don't even look like the older versions.

So what does it say that Friday is right around the corner and I'm eagerly anticipating the next episode of My Little Pony?

Re: My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic
The best part of "Sonic Rainboom" (besides Rainbow Dash being awesome) was tiny meek Fluttershy completely losing it at the sonic rainboom.
