 Fear the Froot!
EDIT: A more visible link to the recipient of all donations received: Gateway 180: Homelessness ReversedIt's Back! For those that don't know (or need a reminder), Fear the Froot was originally put together by the great Tony Mast for Fear the Con I, and I picked up the mantle last year for Fear the Con III. Fruit (apples, oranges, and bananas seem to be a hit) is purchased in large quantities and available for free to all attendees of Fear the Con. Two things that plague our hobby are two sides of the same coin - obesity and poor dietary habits. That's why there's Fear the Froot. I wish in no way to pull business from Stacey and crew, but please consider a piece or few of fruit to go along with your chili, burger, or hot dog. Besides, what better way to fight con crud than with an abundance of fresh fruit, rich with valuable vitamins (and other good stuff)! Last year, we bought 300 POUNDS(!!) of fruit and gave a third of that to a charitable cause, along with $300 in extra donations. This year, I want to see that significantly beaten. I haven't just yet solidified who will be the recipient of the donations this year, but I'm currently in contact with Gateway Homeless Services in downtown St Louis. I will make a formal announcement when that's confirmed. But obviously, I can't do all this without all of your help! Donations can be made to me through PayPal at ZeikeCopperEyes (at) gmail.com. The account is used solely for Fear the Boot related finances. Cash donations will also be accepted in person at Fear the Con IV, but please announce a pledge here, so that I can better keep track of numbers. Thank you all so very much! ~Christian Kleman Community Organizer Fear the Boot

 Re: Fear the Froot!
I have a feeling the homeless shelter will be more amiable to strange men wanting to drop things off.

 Re: Fear the Froot!
I nearly forgot! A close friend of mine (who listens but doesn't post) has decided to craft handmade wooden Fate Dice to be given out as incentives for the biggest donations. I'll post pictures as soon as I can, but trust me, their pretty cool. The first 8 donations of $16 or more will receive one set of 4 Fate Dice. The largest donation will receive a full gamer's set of 16 Fate Dice. The second largest donation will receive two sets (8 Fate Dice). Who says The Power of 16 is dead!? You all are The Power of 16! *I'll find the easiest means possible to getting the dice to you. That might mean sending them back with an envious Booter living nearby.*

Don't forget to try going around to local grocery stores in the area and see if they will donate to the cause

 Re: Fear the Froot!
Forgive my ignorance, but I think the last time I used paypal was something like a decade ago. How do I pay to your email address through paypal, and do I have to have a paypal account to do so?

 Re: Fear the Froot!
Just go to Paypal.com, click Send Money, and fill in a few details. I don't believe you need to create an account to do so, but you'll have to enter whatever bank/card info needed to access the money. If you send to "friends & family", it won't cost either of us any fees (if you use a bank account)! It takes at most a minute or two. Thanks, dude! It's very much appreciated!

 Re: Fear the Froot!
Sorry, Zeike. Trying to make and use a paypal account was a 45 minute clusterfuck of errors, from page load errors, to password resets that now result in the new password not working either, to "credit card already in use by another account", to etc. I've tried logging in so many times that they won't let me try again for at least 2 hours. If I don't get to you through paypal, I'll give it to you at FTC4.

 Re: Fear the Froot!
Hey, no problem, dude! Paypal can sometimes be a bitch to deal with when it comes to passwords and old accounts. Trust me, I know your pain. But, sadly, it's about the best option out there for what it does.
I will most definitely be accepting donations at the con, so no worries, Scott.
