Post Introducing...
... me!

I recently found the Fear the Boot Podcast on RPGPodcasts.com and it is the best podcast I've found so far. I've recently got a job that allows me to listen to podcasts all day so Fear The Boot has been a part of many of my workdays.

I am a gamer. Board gamer, RP gamer, video gamer and all. Currently I am running a D&D3.5 campaign that is 7 months in and it's going very well (although I just killed one PC in both of my last sessions :o ) and I'm playing in a very recently started Marvel RPG game and I'm coming out of an ugly breakup with GURPS 4e after three separate attempts by my group to run and sustain a game.

I have never really joined a forum before. I've lurked a few for useful information but I've heard the FtB guys and gals talk about how this forum is a great community I feel I might be at a loss if I don't join and try to see what it's all about. I didn't even lurk before joining so I don't really know what I'm in for!

I look forward to being a part of the boards here!

Also, any California people here?! The two RPG Podcasts I've gotten into are East Coast and Midwest and I get the impression that there are Cons galore over there! Almost every Podcast mentions a recently passed or soon upcoming con and I never hear about them locally.

There are a bunch of California people here! If you're anywhere near Oakland, you might want to check out Big Bad Con - full disclosure, I'm friends with most of the head honchos there, but it kicks ass even if you aren't. Or if you're down south, talk to David Grey.

First, welcome aboard! "May you find something of worth and leave something of value."

Second, one of my (other) favorite podcasts is from out in CA - Happy Jack's RPG Podcast. [Warning, they're not for everyone; swearing, belching, and inappropriate-for-work topics. But, they're great fun to listen to & big supporters of GURPS, Savage Worlds, Traveller, and Wild Talents. Also, they attend several CA cons each year and organize games at each, so they may be a great way for you to get into the local RPG scene.]

Third, I think you'll enjoy the FtB forums here as you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer, more supportive, collection of crazy talented people. ;)
