I know this is nitpicking, but the fat Buddha statue is very much a minor regional one, and the typical statue is thin. At least, proportionally so, given that some are rather large.

Also, Mal made me nachos, so I crawled out of bed to eat them and check out the forums. Oh, and there will be bacon in a minute.

While that wasn't what I was saying, it is indeed true that the one usually seen in the U.S. is the fat version.

 Re: What are you eating?
Just tossed some stuff in the crock pot. Brown rice, potatoes, onions, carrots, a red pepper, some ham, and salt. Cook for 5 hours on high and enjoy.
The potatoes cost me $2.50 for 10 lbs. The onions: 3 lbs for $1.29. Carrots: 5 lbs for $2.49. (I usually get a 1-lb bag, but not this time.) Red pepper: 43 cents for 1. I'm sure the brown rice cost me no more than 2 bucks for 2 lbs (probably less). The ham: 99 cents/lb.
I try hard to be frugal.
I make this meal, or slight variations on it (might use chicken instead of ham, or barley instead of brown rice), pretty often, so I generally manage to use up most or all of the produce before it goes bad.
